ETD Preservation and Archiving: Can Old Strategies be Applied to New Media?

This presentation provides a background of the strategies libraries are engaged in to preserve print collections and suggests how these strategies might be applied in the digital environment, particularly for electronic theses and dissertations. It includes an examination of the factors inherent in both print and digital environments, identifies library concerns and their expectations of producers, and suggest actions libraries can take to increase awareness of preservation strategies and issues.
