| Abstract: | Work with ETDs at Virginia Tech began in 1987. NDLTD was launched in 1996. Over the last 16 years there have been numerous technology-related efforts, with SGML, XML, PDF, Dublin Core, Open Archives Initiative, digital libraries, search engines, and user interfaces. Likewise, there have been many community building efforts, including visits, meetings, workshops, and conferences. This tutorial will aim to clarify and bring all these together, and to help you plan and organize your ETD activities. There will be ample time to address any questions that have arisen during the conference, and to help make sure that all the concerns you had beforehand are considered. You should leave this tutorial with confidence and a clear action plan for the coming year. |
